ABOUT SHERYL

Born and raised in Michigan, I relocated to Austin several years ago after extensive time in Central Florida and Colorado. As a second career, I have been able to bring a unique perspective to therapy, life changes, parenting, marriage and family and how important it is to be in community.

In 2015 I completed my Master's in Science graduate degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University in Counseling Psychology. My therapeutic approach is person-centered, CBT and Attachment Theory focused. I can incorporate Art Therapy and other forms of experiential therapies upon request.

As an avid world traveler, I love getting to know people from a variety of cultures and religious backgrounds. I specialize in counseling from a Christian perspective for those who request it.

For my own self-care, I enjoy traveling, reading, listening to swing/jazz music, gardening, volunteering, hiking, remodeling projects, baking and hanging out with family and friends.

ABOUT THERAPY

Let's start a new journey together.

Experiencing significant life changes is something we all inevitably experience. Sometimes change and hardships come by our choosing and sometimes they do not. Knowing that you don’t have do face it alone can make all the difference. The counseling relationship can be one of the most rewarding relationships a person will ever cultivate, and my goal is to help my clients feel as safe and welcome as possible.

I enjoy helping clients build their narrative so they can better understand how they arrived where they are, and also for clarity on what is the next right step for them. I have been trained in Trauma-Focused CBT as well as Attachment Theory, and work within a collaborative framework, focusing on you with a person-centered approach.
